The 2008–2015 Smart Fortwo 451: Pure, Passion and Brabus. 2016+ cars are the 453 generation and need our 453 setup. The kit can also go on a Smart 450, but that requires modifying the rear shock hangers, and we make no guarantees on fitment or compatibility for that generation. Contact us before you order.
Yes. We have specific adjustments to our kit for the electric model, and everything works great.
The 3" lift kit is the lift components, mounting hardware and color printed instructions. For the full stance, add 3x112 to 4x156 wheel adapters, fender flares, 15x7 wheels, 215/75R15 tires and pre-programmed TPMS sensors. This builder walks you through it, and everything shown fits the 451.
215/75R15 all-terrains on our 15x7, 4x156 wheels. Those tires need the 3" lift to clear. Going much bigger, like 28" tires, takes some easy clearance trimming of superficial pinch welds.
Yes, to run our wheels. The 451 is 3x112 from the factory, and our adapters convert it to 4x156. They're staggered, 2" front and 2.25" rear, and lug nuts are included.
No. The 451 kit bolts on using factory mounts, with no frame cutting or welding, and ships with color printed, step-by-step instructions. The fender flares have trim-to-fit ends. Prefer a pro? Any trusted mechanic or collision shop can install it, and we'll send them our shop write-up: just ask through our contact form.
From the factory there's negative camber in the rear; after lifting you'll see that normalize under no load. That's normal, and with our wider stance, adapters, wheels and tires the car should track better on the road. If you still want an alignment, put about 400 miles on the car first so the lift can settle. For the front end, the shop will loosen and retighten the front subframe.
If your factory shocks are tired, new ones are a big help. Our Bilstein shock upgrade works with the kit and keeps your ride height.
Pick your parts step by step, then add the whole build to your cart in one tap. Buy the lift kit with matched parts (adapters, wheels, tires, flares, bumpers) and you get 8% off those parts automatically. Only want one piece? Every part is also sold on its own.
