The first-generation Toyota Matrix (2003–2008) is already the practical one: a tall hatchback on Corolla underpinnings, with a fold-down rear seat and a hard-wearing cargo floor. Add 2" of lift and real all-terrain tires and it becomes a small adventure wagon that can actually reach the campsite, the trailhead or the end of a washed-out gravel road.

The Matrix build

  • Lift: the LBS 2" Toyota lift kit raises the Matrix front and rear. Its rear spring buffers help a loaded hatch carry gear without sagging.
  • Wheels and tires: 5x100 to 4x156 wheel adapters let the Matrix run our 15x7 off-road wheels, wrapped in all-terrain tires.
  • Coverage: bolt-on fender flares for the wider stance.
  • Hauling: roof rack cross bars for bikes, a cargo box or a light bar, plus LED lighting and a winch and accessories kit.

Matrix fitment notes

LBS Matrix parts are listed for the first-generation 2003–2008 Matrix, not the 2009+ second generation. The Pontiac Vibe is the Matrix's twin under the skin, so the same parts fit the 2003–2008 Vibe. Running an AWD or XRS? Contact us with your year and trim before you order.
